You fix it to a panel and the panel produces the sound, so the speaker can stay out of sight. Screw it through the holes, or glue it with the matching Pad EX 60 R (part 4557), 3M VHB 4919F. Clean and degrease the area first, and press the plate down evenly.

The position on the panel changes the sound quite a lot. In our experience the best spot is usually slightly to the side of centre, rather than right in the middle. It is worth trying a few positions with ordinary double-sided tape before fixing it permanently. Light, rigid, non-magnetic panels work best, and expect less bass when the panel hangs close to a wall.

Connect to the 4.8 x 0.8 mm (+)/2.8 x 0.8 mm (-) blade terminals with matching push-on connectors. Use an amplifier suitable for an 8 Ω load and keep the drive within the 25 W maximum long-term power. Route the cable so that it cannot rattle against the panel.

Technical specifications

Maximum long-term power (DIN EN 60268-5): 25 W

Nominal impedance: 8 Ω

Voice coil diameter: 32.5 mm (the 2025 datasheet gives 32.6 mm)

Mounting plate: Ø70 mm round, four Ø4.2 mm holes on 44 x 44 mm centres

Body diameter: 54 mm

Overall depth: 20.3 mm

Net weight: 0.125 kg

Terminals: 4.8 x 0.8 mm (+)/2.8 x 0.8 mm (-)

Mounting: Glued or screwed to the panel

Adhesive pad accessory: Pad EX 60 R (part 4557), 3M VHB 4919F

Temperature range: −25 to 70 °C

Cyclic temperature test: EN 60068-2-14: −40/+80 °C

Vibration and shock test: EN 61373, category 1 / class B

Manufacturer information

Manufacturer datasheet (PDF)

Current manufacturer product page
