The DT 94 pairs a polycarbonate dome with a round faceplate, and its ferrofluid-cooled voice coil allows high power handling with an even response and wide dispersion. This 4 Ω version has a d.c. resistance of 3.1 Ω, is rated at 70 W with a 12 dB/oct. high-pass from 4000 Hz and gives 90 dB (1 W/1 m) with a 1900 Hz resonance.
Typical applications
- Tweeter for hi-fi speakers
- Speaker kit builds

Installation and cabinet guidance
Allow a 64 mm panel opening. The round faceplate is 94 mm in diameter, with 4.3 mm fixing holes countersunk to 7.5 mm on an 81 mm circle; mark them from the unit itself rather than assuming the spacing. Behind the panel allow about 19 mm for the 60 mm rear housing, plus room for the terminals and the wiring.
Mount it on a rigid baffle with a continuous seal between the faceplate and the panel, tighten the fixings evenly and only enough to seal so the faceplate is not distorted, and keep the dome clear of any grille. Connect to the 4.8 x 0.8 mm (+)/2.8 x 0.8 mm (-) blade terminals with matching push-on connectors and observe polarity; the two blade widths identify it. The power ratings apply only with a 12 dB/oct. high-pass filter from 4000 Hz (70 W), or from 2000 Hz at a reduced 50 W, so feed it through the system crossover or a high-pass filter that gives at least that protection; never connect it directly to a full-range signal. A dome this small depends on that filter to survive, so keep the slope steep and do not cross it over lower than the rating allows. Use an amplifier suitable for the 4 Ω load.
