Description

The KT 100 V is a compact 10 cm woofer with a low resonant frequency, an elastic rubber surround and a deep magnet that allow long cone travel, while venting of the air gap and T-yoke keeps noise down. Its plain basket suits a range of installations. This 4 Ω version takes 25 W rated power, resonates at 42 Hz and covers 32–9500 Hz.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Allow a 92 mm panel opening for the 94.6 mm square frame, which is fixed through 4.8 x 6.9 mm slots in the corners. Behind the panel leave about 51.4 mm of clear depth for the basket, magnet and terminals, plus room for the wiring. The plain basket allows a range of mounting arrangements, so confirm the opening, the fixing slots and the depth available in your panel before cutting.

Mount it on a rigid baffle with a continuous gasket or sealing strip between the frame and the panel, and tighten the fixings evenly and only enough to seal so the frame is not distorted. Keep the cone and the rubber surround clear of the grille and of any internal parts. The terminals take 4.8 x 0.8 mm blades on the positive side and 2.8 x 0.8 mm on the negative, so blade size identifies polarity; observe it and use an amplifier suited to the 4 Ω load. Optional protective grilles are available as parts 4640 and 4742.

The lower cut-off depends on the enclosure volume and tuning, so test the driver in the intended enclosure at the intended listening level before finalising the cabinet.
