The BS 76 is a structure-borne sound driver for midrange and high frequencies: an M5 screw fixes it to a surface that is able to resonate, which then radiates the sound; no enclosure is needed. It is sealed, with a fixed 3 m cable, and is rated IP68, tested at 2 m water depth for 24 hours. This 8 Ω version handles 20 W rated power (30 W maximum).
Typical applications
- Sound output through resonant surfaces without an enclosure
- Midrange and high-frequency structure-borne sound
- Installations exposed to water

Installation and cabinet guidance
The BS 76 is a sealed structure-borne sound driver, 76.5 mm in diameter and 31 mm deep, with a fixed 3 m cable. It fixes with a single M5 screw into the threaded insert on its mounting face, onto a surface that is able to resonate; no enclosure is needed. Fix it firmly against a clean, flat area, and check the surface and the position by listening before final fixing. Where the surface itself cannot be tapped, attach a matching threaded bolt or stud to it securely first.
The IP68 rating is the manufacturer's test at 2 m water depth for 24 hours; the fixed cable leaves the housing sealed, so make the cable's connection to the amplifier where it stays dry. Where the cable is exposed, run it downwards from the unit and leave a drip loop before that connection. Operating temperature range −25 to 80 °C. The BS 76 is a converter for midrange and high frequencies, and its output depends on the surface it drives.
Connect the two cable leads to an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load, keeping the polarity consistent between units, and keep the drive within the 20 W rating (30 W maximum). Route the cable so that it cannot rattle against the surface, clipping it clear of the driver and of any part of the surface that is free to move.
