The DSM 25 FFL uses a strong, ultra-light titanium dome with a heavily damped surround, giving a linear response free of partial oscillations, while high magnetic flux in the ferrofluid-filled gap allows high efficiency and power handling. This 8 Ω version is rated at 80 W with a 12 dB/oct. high-pass from 2000 Hz, gives 90 dB (1 W/1 m) and resonates at 1450 Hz.
Typical applications
- High-end hi-fi systems
- Tweeter for multi-way hi-fi speakers

Installation and cabinet guidance
Allow an 80 mm panel opening. The faceplate is 96.3 mm across the flats with clipped corners (110 mm across the corners), and it offers a choice of fixing patterns: four 5 mm holes at the corners on a 95 mm circle, or four alternative holes on the axes 67.2 mm apart. Behind the panel allow about 24 mm for the 70 mm rear housing, plus room for the terminals and the wiring. Mark whichever pattern you use from the unit itself, and confirm the depth available before committing to a slim cabinet.
Mount it on a rigid baffle with a continuous seal between the faceplate and the panel, tighten the fixings evenly and only enough to seal so the faceplate is not distorted, and keep the dome clear of any grille. Connect to the 4.8 x 0.8 mm (+)/2.8 x 0.8 mm (-) blade terminals with matching push-on connectors and observe polarity; the two blade widths identify it. The power ratings apply only with a 12 dB/oct. high-pass filter from 2000 Hz, so feed it through the system crossover or a high-pass filter that gives at least that protection; never connect it directly to a full-range signal. A dome this small depends on that filter to survive, so keep the slope steep and do not cross it over lower than the rating allows. Use an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load.
