Description

The M 10 is a cone midrange for the band between 1000 and 5000 Hz, and its enclosed rear means no separate midrange chamber is needed inside the cabinet. This 8 Ω version is rated at 80 W with a 12 dB/oct. high-pass from 800 Hz, gives 90 dB (1 W/1 m), resonates at 700 Hz and allows ±2 mm of excursion.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Allow a 95 mm panel opening. The frame is 102 mm square with 5 x 7 mm fixing slots at the corners on a 117 mm circle; mark them from the unit itself rather than assuming the spacing. Behind the panel allow about 39 mm for the 94 mm basket and its 60.5 mm enclosed rear, plus room for the terminals and the wiring.

Mount it on a rigid baffle with a continuous seal between the frame and the panel, tighten the fixings evenly and only enough to seal so the frame is not distorted, and keep the cone clear of any grille. The slots allow a little adjustment, so set the driver square before you tighten it down. Connect to the 4.8 x 0.8 mm (+)/2.8 x 0.8 mm (-) blade terminals with matching push-on connectors and observe polarity; the two blade widths identify it. The power ratings apply only with a 12 dB/oct. high-pass filter from 800 Hz, so feed it through the system crossover or a high-pass filter that gives at least that protection; never connect it directly to a full-range signal. Use an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load.

The rear of the driver is enclosed, so it needs no separate midrange chamber inside the cabinet and can share the main enclosure with the other drivers.
