The TW 70 uses a specially shaped basket and a sealed rear, so it needs no separate tweeter chamber inside the cabinet and gives an even response with good power handling for its size. This 8 Ω version is rated at 80 W with a 12 dB/oct. high-pass from 5000 Hz, gives 90 dB (1 W/1 m) and resonates at 1500 Hz.
Typical applications
- Tweeter for hi-fi speakers
- Replacement tweeter for hi-fi speakers

Installation and cabinet guidance
Allow a 64 mm panel opening. The frame is 64 mm square, with 4.5 x 6.5 mm fixing slots at the corners on a 74 mm circle; mark them from the unit itself rather than assuming the spacing. Behind the panel allow about 29 mm for the 64 mm sealed basket, plus room for the terminals and the wiring.
Mount it on a rigid baffle with a continuous seal between the frame and the panel, tighten the fixings evenly and only enough to seal so the frame is not distorted, and keep the cone clear of any grille. Connect to the 4.8 x 0.8 mm (+)/2.8 x 0.8 mm (-) blade terminals with matching push-on connectors and observe polarity; the two blade widths identify it. The power ratings apply only with a 12 dB/oct. high-pass filter from 5000 Hz (80 W), or from 3000 Hz at a reduced 40 W, so feed it through the system crossover or a high-pass filter that gives at least that protection; never connect it directly to a full-range signal. Use an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load.
The rear of the driver is sealed, so it needs no separate tweeter chamber inside the cabinet and can share the main enclosure volume. That saves building a partition when it goes into an existing cabinet.
Before ordering as a replacement, check the cut-out, fixing pattern, depth and impedance against the original driver, and make sure the host speaker's crossover gives it the high-pass protection its power rating assumes.
