Description

The FRWS 5 SC is designed for speech and music in displays, PCs and other compact electronic equipment. Its lightweight alnico magnet provides magnetic shielding in a small package. This 8 Ω driver handles 4 W rated power, with a balanced response region from about 350 Hz and wide sound dispersion.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Allow for a 45 mm opening and 50 mm square frame, with 44 mm fixing pitch. Keep the solder connections accessible and support the wires so they cannot pull on the lugs.

Mount on a rigid panel with a continuous seal around the frame to prevent air leaks and rattles. Keep the cone and surround clear of the grille and internal parts.

Use an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load and follow the polarity marks. Solder without prolonged heating, insulate the joints and secure the wires so they cannot touch the cone or pull on the lugs.

Use this impedance version’s enclosure parameters when developing a cabinet, and test the response at the intended listening level. Allow for the volume occupied by the driver and keep damping material clear of the cone and terminals.
