Description

The DL 5 puts a small full-range driver into a white ceiling fitting for compact home and professional sound systems. Its mounting frame works well alongside small lighting fittings. This 8 Ω model handles 4 W; use on a 100 V speaker line requires a separate suitable transformer.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Prepare a 72 mm circular cut-out for the 85.5 mm face. Hold the spring arms back for insertion and let them grip the rear of the ceiling panel. Allow for the 31 mm depth shown in the dimension drawing, plus access for the connections and cable. Check the panel can support the complete fitting.

Connect to an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load, observing the terminal polarity. Use the screw-terminal block on the supplied 0.14 m lead. Support the cable so it does not pull on the connection.

IP54 protection applies to the front only when the speaker is built into a sealed enclosure; additional bonding may be needed. The open rear and connections require protection appropriate to the installation.

For concrete or fire-protection ceilings, select a suitable separate housing for the complete installation. The speaker alone does not establish a fire rating for the ceiling.
