The K 50 WPT is a 5 cm miniature speaker with a plastic basket and diaphragm, giving a broad response and good voice reproduction. It is weather-resistant and UV-resistant for outdoor use and high humidity, and its IP65 protection applies to the front when it is built into a sealed enclosure. Its terminals project beyond the frame edge instead of pointing to the rear. This 8 Ω version handles 2 W and is rated for −40 to 80 °C.
Typical applications
- Monitoring speaker for electronic devices
- Monitoring speaker for outdoor systems

Installation and cabinet guidance
Allow for a 46 mm panel opening. The round plastic frame is 50 mm in diameter (45.5 mm behind the flange), with a 31.5 mm square magnet housing; the unit is 18 mm deep overall including the 2.5 mm flange. The 2.8 mm blade terminals project 9 mm beyond the frame edge instead of pointing to the rear, so leave room for them at the edge of the opening. The frame has no fixing holes, so it is normally bonded or clamped in place; check the method against your enclosure design and keep the clamping even all round. Check that the projecting terminals and their connectors clear the enclosure wall before the cut-out position is fixed.
The IP65 protection applies to the front of the driver only, and only when it is built into a sealed enclosure; the rear is open to the enclosure. Mount it on a flat panel with a continuous seal around the frame and protect the rear from water and dust; bonding the driver in and fitting a front cover or grille may be needed to complete the protection. Run the cable so that water cannot track along it into the enclosure, and leave a drip loop where it is exposed. Operating temperature range −40 to 80 °C.
Connect to the 2.8 x 0.5 mm (+)/2.8 x 0.5 mm (-) blade terminals with matching push-on connectors; both blades are the same size, so follow the + and - marks on the rear label. Keep the leads clear of the moving parts and support them so that they cannot pull on the terminals. Use an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load and keep the drive within the 2 W rating (3 W maximum).
The K 50 WP shares the same technical data but has terminals that point to the rear: parts 2915, 2917 and 2916 for 8 Ω, 16 Ω and 50 Ω. Check the impedance and the terminal orientation against the installation before ordering.
