Description

The SC 5.9 fits speech and music reproduction into a narrow oval frame. Its shielded magnet and 10 W rated power make it useful for multimedia speakers, computer terminals and compatible replacement TV installations. The 8 Ω version has an 84 dB sensitivity and a 43 × 82 mm oval cut-out.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Allow for a 43 × 82 mm oval opening and 50.5 × 90.5 mm frame. Check fixing positions, rear clearance and terminal access against the equipment being repaired. Confirm the original speaker impedance before choosing a replacement.

Mount on a rigid panel with a continuous seal around the frame to prevent air leaks and rattles. Keep the cone and surround clear of the grille and internal parts.

Use an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load and follow the polarity marks. Check blade width and thickness before choosing connectors, insulate the connections and secure the wiring clear of the moving parts.

Use this impedance version’s enclosure parameters when developing a cabinet, and test the response at the intended listening level. Allow for the volume occupied by the driver and keep damping material clear of the cone and terminals.
