The TI 100 has a cone of pure titanium, matched to its surround and adhesives to suppress cone resonance, and a large-aperture basket, rear-ventilated damper and open, phase-plugged voice coil that keep mechanical losses very low. Its double magnet arrangement is magnetically compensated. This 8 Ω version takes 40 W rated power, resonates at 62 Hz and allows ±4 mm of excursion.
Typical applications
- Compact hi-fi speakers
- Midrange in multi-way systems
- High-end hi-fi systems

Installation and cabinet guidance
Allow a 101 mm panel opening for a 121.5 mm frame, with the fixing holes on a 111 mm circle and 4.2 mm holes countersunk to 7.2 mm. Behind the panel leave about 72 mm of clear depth for the basket and the 75 mm magnet, with room beyond that for the terminals and the wiring. The double magnet makes the driver deep for its diameter, so confirm the depth available before choosing it for a slim cabinet.
The driver weighs 1.16 kg, so fit it to a rigid baffle with a continuous gasket or sealing strip between the frame and the panel, and tighten the fixings evenly and only enough to seal so the frame is not distorted. Keep the cone and the surround clear of the grille and of any internal bracing. Travel is limited to ±4 mm, so choose the crossover points and the operating level with that in mind. The terminals take 4.8 x 0.8 mm blades on the positive side and 2.8 x 0.8 mm on the negative, so blade size identifies polarity; observe it and use an amplifier or crossover suited to the 8 Ω load.
Visaton's published enclosure suggestions for this driver: 3 l closed (fc 106 Hz, Qtc 0.7); 5 l closed (fc 90 Hz, Qtc 0.6); 5 l bass reflex with a BR 6.8 port (fb 60 Hz); 10 l bass reflex with a BR 6.8 port (fb 54 Hz).
