Description

The B 200 pairs a very light paper cone and fabric surround with a 25 mm aluminium-wire voice coil on a vented Kapton former, and its aluminium die-cast basket is vented behind the spider to keep mechanical losses low. This 6 Ω version takes 40 W rated power, reaches 96 dB (2.83 V/1 m) and resonates at 40 Hz.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Allow a 190 mm panel opening. The frame is 222 mm in diameter, with 5 mm fixing holes countersunk to 9 mm on a 210 mm circle; mark them from the driver itself rather than assuming the spacing. Behind the panel allow about 89 mm for the 188 mm basket and the 109 mm magnet, plus room for the terminals and the wiring. It weighs 2.16 kg, so make sure the baffle and the fixings can carry it.

Mount it on a rigid baffle with a continuous seal between the frame and the panel, tighten the fixings evenly and only enough to seal so the frame is not distorted, and keep the cone clear of any grille. Connect to the 4.8 x 0.8 mm (+)/2.8 x 0.8 mm (-) blade terminals with matching push-on connectors and observe polarity; the two blade widths identify it. Leave enough slack in the cable that the joints are not strained once the driver is in place, and use an amplifier suitable for the 6 Ω load.
