Description

The BF 45 S combines a black aluminium diaphragm with a transparent plastic basket. It suits compact equipment needing music and speech reproduction, particularly where a dark diaphragm is preferable behind a grille. This 4 Ω version handles 4 W rated power, weighs 32 g and has two mounting lugs.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Allow for a 45 mm opening, 51.4 mm fixing pitch and 26 mm overall depth, plus the solder connections. Support both plastic mounting lugs evenly and keep the grille clear of the moving diaphragm.

Mount on a rigid panel with a continuous seal around the frame to prevent air leaks and rattles. Keep the cone and surround clear of the grille and internal parts.

Use an amplifier suitable for the 4 Ω load and follow the polarity marks. Solder without prolonged heating, insulate the joints and secure the wires so they cannot touch the cone or pull on the lugs.

Test the driver in the intended enclosure before fixing the cabinet design. Keep the rear acoustic space clear and check low-frequency cone travel at the intended operating level; a small driver’s usable bass depends on the enclosure and required output.
