Description

The SC 4.6 FL uses a coated wooden cone, rigid plastic basket and neodymium magnet to keep depth and weight low. It suits miniature hi-fi speakers and compact equipment needing music as well as speech. The 8 Ω driver handles 4 W rated power and weighs 34 g.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Allow for a 41.5 × 60.4 mm frame and 12.5 mm overall depth, plus the solder connections. Transfer the opening and fixing positions from the drawing to the panel, then check fit with the actual driver. Support the plastic frame evenly.

Seal the mounting joint into a sealed enclosure and protect the rear and terminals from moisture. IP63 applies to the front only; adhesive and a front grille may be needed to complete the seal.

Use an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load and follow the polarity marks. Solder without prolonged heating, insulate the joints and secure the wires so they cannot touch the cone or pull on the lugs.

Test the driver in the intended enclosure before fixing the cabinet design. Keep the rear acoustic space clear and check low-frequency cone travel at the intended operating level; a small driver’s usable bass depends on the enclosure and required output.
