Description

The FRWS 4 ND combines a coated paper cone, black metal basket and compact neodymium magnet. It suits miniature hi-fi speakers and built-in audio where space and weight are limited. The 8 Ω driver weighs 28 g, handles 2 W rated power and provides a broad response from a 4 cm format.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Allow for the 41 mm square frame, 32 mm fixing pitch and 21 mm depth shown in the drawing. Check the opening against the basket profile before cutting and leave access to the solder lugs.

Mount on a rigid panel with a continuous seal around the frame to prevent air leaks and rattles. Keep the cone and surround clear of the grille and internal parts.

Use an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load and follow the polarity marks. Solder without prolonged heating, insulate the joints and secure the wires so they cannot touch the cone or pull on the lugs.

Test the driver in the intended enclosure before fixing the cabinet design. Keep the rear acoustic space clear and check low-frequency cone travel at the intended operating level; a small driver’s usable bass depends on the enclosure and required output.
