Description

The PL 8 RV combines an open-backed driver with a threaded mounting ring for fitting into dashboards, trims and equipment panels. Its broad response supports clear speech in special vehicles and intercoms. This black 4 Ω model handles 10 W and comes with a 0.5 m cable.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Prepare a 72.5 mm circular opening. The front is 86.2 mm in diameter and the drawing shows 37 mm behind the front mounting face. Fit the speaker through the opening and secure it with its threaded ring. Check the thread engagement against the panel before fitting. Leave room for the cable behind it.

Connect the supplied 0.5 m cable to an amplifier suitable for 4 Ω, observing the polarity markings. Keep the cable supported and clear of moving trim or door parts. The rated power is 10 W.

The rear of the speaker is open, so provide space behind the driver and keep surrounding parts clear of it. The matching optional spacer ring is DR PL 8 RV, part 4482; it is a separate accessory.
