Description

The SL 713 is designed for intelligible speech in narrow speaker columns and transport audio installations. Its oval cone, 90 dB sensitivity and clear upper-frequency response suit sound reinforcement where width is limited. This 4 Ω driver handles 10 W rated power; a separate transformer is needed for a 100 V line system.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Allow for a 66 × 119 mm oval opening and match all four fixing positions. Choose the mounting orientation to suit the coverage area: horizontal and vertical dispersion differ. Secure the terminals and cables against vibration.

Mount on a rigid panel with a continuous seal around the frame to prevent air leaks and rattles. Keep the cone and surround clear of the grille and internal parts.

Use an amplifier suitable for the 4 Ω load and follow the polarity marks. Check blade width and thickness before choosing connectors, insulate the connections and secure the wiring clear of the moving parts.

For a 100 V line system, connect through a correctly rated line transformer; do not connect this low-impedance driver directly to the line.

Use this impedance version’s enclosure parameters when developing a cabinet, and test the response at the intended listening level. Allow for the volume occupied by the driver and keep damping material clear of the cone and terminals.
