Description

The SC 5.9 FLX combines a wooden cone and neodymium magnet in a shallow plastic basket. It is suited to compact hi-fi and built-in audio where a narrow speaker must reproduce both speech and music. The 8 Ω driver handles 4 W rated power, weighs 60 g and has a 141 Hz resonance.

Installation and cabinet guidance

Allow for a 49.8 × 89.9 mm frame and 16 mm depth, plus rear connector clearance. Check the shaped panel opening and fixing positions against the drawing and actual basket. Support the plastic frame evenly without overtightening.

Seal the mounting joint into a sealed enclosure and protect the rear and terminals from moisture. IP63 applies to the front only; adhesive and a front grille may be needed to complete the seal.

Use an amplifier suitable for the 8 Ω load and follow the polarity marks. Check blade width and thickness before choosing connectors, insulate the connections and secure the wiring clear of the moving parts.

Use this impedance version’s enclosure parameters when developing a cabinet, and test the response at the intended listening level. Allow for the volume occupied by the driver and keep damping material clear of the cone and terminals.
