Measure the outer frame, the cut-out opening and the available depth behind the mounting surface.

Overall body depth includes the front projection. Rear mounting depth is measured behind the mounting face. Dimensions describe the body shown in the drawing; allow extra space for terminals, cable bends and installation tolerances.

Match the opening shape. Limits allow a smaller opening and do not confirm an exact replacement fit; check the drawing and fixings.

Sensitivity (loudness)

Minimum sensitivity (dB at 1 W/1 m)Compares output for the same input power; actual loudness also depends on your enclosure and signal.

Waterproofing and IP ratings explained

Waterproofing depends on the type of exposure and how the speaker is installed. An IP rating does not mean protection in every situation.

Splashes: IPX4 or IP64: Protection against splashing water. IP64 also specifies dust-tight protection.
Water jets: IP65: Protection against water jets and dust. Also meets the splash requirement.
Temporary immersion: IP67: Protection during temporary immersion under test conditions, plus dust protection. Immersion ratings alone do not confirm splash or water-jet protection.
Immersion: IPX8: Protection under manufacturer-specified immersion conditions. Check the permitted depth and duration for the individual speaker.

The first character after IP describes dust protection; the second describes water protection. X means that protection is not specified.

These speaker ratings apply to the front with the specified sealed mounting. They do not automatically protect the rear or your whole enclosure. Discuss the exposure and mounting with us.
